The benefits of an effective storage system can never be underestimated as our customer Cost Plus Sofas discovered.  They had no stock control method in operation, just simply storing boxes on the ground.  This was posing detrimental effects on the quality of the stock as damages were occurring and they were unable to accurately count stock.  At times forktruck access to stock was impossible and heavy manual handling was necessary. An immediate solution was required. 

Sperrin’s Sales Manager Padraig Groogan, reviewed various possibilities such as Furniture Storage Cages, Drive-in Racking with specialised Pallets and Cantilever Racking. In consideration of maximising storage potential, Padraig decided upon our standard adjustable pallet racking system decked with heavy duty chipboard.  This system enabled multi-tier storage with stock sitting no higher than 1 to 2 per level thus eliminating damages.  It also created an effective stock control system with range in stock clearly identifiable.  Access to product was created by aisle passageways for forktruck access.  This new system totally transformed the effectiveness of the warehouse for storage capacity, stock count, ease of locating stock and elimination of damages during storage.
